Fire-Damaged Home Continues Its Rebirth

December 2014

Some of the original 1901 detailing on the cornices
What a difference a year makes.  In late May 2014, UU posted about the 1901 graystone at 4631 North Kenmore that was for sale after a devastating fire in December 2013.  The listing said it would need a complete rehab and that it could not be entered due to unsafe conditions.

Much to our surprise, it sold for more than the asking price, and we've been watching the restoration happen ever since.

Construction continued last week, but the exterior, at least, is looking nearly done.  We can't wait to see the finished product. Another part of Uptown's history saved, which is a good thing.
