Man Shot At Irving Park and Clark

Crime in Wrigleyville & Boystown's Twitter feed is reporting a shooting tonight at 4046 North Clark (Lakeview, to be technical).  It happened around 10:45pm 10:20pm, across the street from Graceland Cemetery. It's the second shooting in as many months in Graceland West, a very nice and usually quiet part of the 47th Ward.

According to CWB's police scanner, the victim, a 21-year-old man, was shot in the shoulder and walked into drove himself to Weiss Hospital around 11pm in "good condition." He was apparently shot by a man in a ski mask who then jumped into a white Impala, which then drove south on Clark and then turned west toward Southport.

CWB notes:  "Trivia: Cops did a contact card on apparent victim on Dec 22 after Uptown woman claimed he threatened to shoot her at day care center.  At the time of the contact card, the victim's Lexus already had bullet holes in it. #WantedMan #NoGreenBananas"

Update:  According to both the Tribune and Sun-Times, the man was shot while gassing up his car on the 4000 block of Clark.  That could have been the Citgo station (at Belle Plaine) or the Shell station (at Irving Park).  We amended the story above to reflect updated information.

Update:  The Crime in Wrigleyville blog reports that the victim was a Morgan Park man who had been accused of making threats in Uptown earlier in December.  See its story here.

  1. That white impala had been involved in other crimes in the past. Why can't the cops find this guy?
