We heard from a local business about an old scam that's making a comeback:
"Just a heads up, the scammers are back at it again. We got a call from someone claiming to be ComEd, claiming that we were going to be disconnected unless we made immediate payment. I figured it was a scam but to be on the safe side I called ComEd and they confirmed what I already knew.....they do not call before disconnection.....ever!
The incoming number is 866-978-8176.
The ComEd rep instructed us to call the police and report this."
