UPS Holding Hiring Fair At Truman College On October 18th

"Mayor Rahm Emanuel today announced that UPS will create more than 4,000 full-time and part-time seasonal jobs in the Chicagoland area as part of a Fall Hiring Initiative.

The openings are for a combination of positions, including package handlers, delivery drivers, tractor-trailer drivers and driver helpers. Many seasonal employees will have the opportunity for advancements into permanent positions following the 2014 holiday season.

The City of Chicago and City Colleges of Chicago will conduct a series of hiring events to fill the more than 300 delivery drivers and tractor-trailer driver positions. The first of two pre-scheduled interview days will be held on Saturday, October 18 at Truman College at 1145 W. Wilson Ave. from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The second event will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 9:00AM to 2:00 PM at Olive-Harvey College at 10001 S. Woodlawn Ave.

These events will focus on filling positions for delivery drivers and tractor-trailer drivers. Additional hiring events may be added based on need and interested candidates should check the UPS jobs website for updates.
  • All qualified candidates interested in applying for full-time delivery driver and tractor-trailer driver positions must pre-register by calling 708-387-4683, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Applicants for these positions must be at a minimum 21 years old with two years of all-weather driving experience. Up to 140 interviews for delivery drivers and tractor-trailer drivers will be conducted on-site. Only pre-registered candidates will be interviewed.
  • Candidates who are interested in package handler or driver helper positions should apply online at www.upsjobs.com/chicago for an opportunity to interview onsite at UPS locations."
