That weird little concrete island at Racine and Broadway that
Rahm Emanuel once said he foresaw as a "people plaza," but seems to only exist as a parking place for bigwigs' cars during concerts at the Riv?
Well, it's serving another purpose, at least for the next year.
On Friday, a twelve-foot-tall sculpture entitled "Two in the Hand" by
Michael Young was installed there as part of the Chicago Sculpture Exhibition. It will stay there for a year, thanks to sponsorship by Uptown United, SSA #34, and the owners of Crew Bar.
Read more about it at
Uptown United's website.
