Uptown Bridges Claim Another Truck Topper
Bad time and place to be stuck, right in the middle of Cubs traffic. (Not that there's any really good time or place to be stuck.) Tuesday night, a reader sent in these photos at 6:30 and says, "The low bridges of Uptown claim another semi-truck victim. Traffic westbound on Irving Park is congested currently due to the accident pictured below." The truck was still stuck at 8:30.
Since trucks aren't allowed on the Drive, it's rare to have one get wedged at that location. Lawrence, under the L, is the more common site of stuck trucks.

So, how do these trucks get unstuck? And how long does it take?
ReplyDeleteOne answer I've heard in the past is that they deflate the tires enough to allow the truck to clear the underpass. I saw other pictures posted of the incident and there was a tow truck involved
DeleteOn a related note - A&S Kinard is hiring again!
ReplyDeleteIts always funny when this happens. This is funnier because it LSD. Can't imagine what it feels like to drive a semi trailer down LSD. Oops. How come there aren't any other truckers here? Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteThe truck is on Irving Park, under the Drive. It may have come from Recreation Drive, where there are shops and facilities that to receive truck deliveries.
