See Uptown-Based ANIMALS At The Chicago Critics Film Festival

Many Uptowners remember last summer, when ANIMALS filmed in Uptown and many locals took part in the production.

Since then, ANIMALS has debuted at the SXSW festival, winning Special Jury Recognition for Courage in Storytelling.

Now those who participated in the filming will have a chance to see it for themselves.  We heard from former Uptowner David Dastmalchian, who stars in the semi-autobiographical film:

"To all of the incredible people of Uptown who supported our film, we are thrilled to announce that ANIMALS has been selected by The Chicago Film Critics Association to be a part of the 2014 Chicago Critics Film Festival.

We will screen at 8:30 on May 15th at the Music Box Theater.   Information about the film and ticket information is available.

THANK YOU UPTOWN!!!!!"

There's an interview with David in DNAinfo in which he gives shoutouts to Ric Addy of Shake Rattle & Read and Mary, the owner of Sheridan Park Food & Liquors.  Read it here.

  1. THANK YOU once more, Uptown! We are so excited to come back to Chicago and screen Animals on Thursday - AND we're excited to get the next film into production in Uptown! Hopefully very soon.
