Man Wanted For Attempted Kidnapping In Lincoln Square

This didn't happen in Uptown, but it was close enough that the creep might show up here.  If you have kids, it's a good time to review with them what to do in case they're ever approached:

Monday morning, a 12-year-old girl was walking to school through an alley near Montrose and Western. She was approached by an approximately 35-year-old man who tried to get her to get into his car.  She turned around and ran.
  • The guy:  The driver was described as a male Asian, approximately 30-35 years old with short dark hair. The offender spoke with an accent.
  • The car: The offender was observed in a white or light grey four-door car.
Please remind your kids not to walk through alleys, especially if they're alone.  This girl did exactly what she should have done: she didn't engage the guy in conversation, she ran, and she reported it.  Tell your kids to go to businesses or trusted neighbors should something like this happen to them.

If you have any information that might help the police in this matter, call (312) 744-8200 and reference case RD# HX242188.

  1. She gave a good description and did the right things under the circumstances. Too bad she didn't his license number because odds are he tries this again.
