From Rev. Patti Nakai:
"Need to release some holiday stress? Join us for Mochi-tsuki, 'rice-dumpling pounding,' at the Buddhist Temple of Chicago, 1151 W.
Leland on Sunday, December 22.
There will be a brief Buddhist service at
11am followed by servings of free samples of mochi. Open to the public
and all are welcome to participate in the production of mochi (smaller
wooden mallets are available for pre-teens to try their hand at the
pounding). Clean-up starts around 1:30pm, so come early to enjoy this
traditional Japanese festival.
