Pet Blessings This Saturday At Two Uptown Churches

Has your dog been acting devilish?  Your cat maybe needs some extra TLC?  Your iguana down in the dumps?

At many Catholic churches, in honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, there are pet blessings for our four-footed and winged friends.  In Uptown, there are two churches where ceremonies will be taking place, both on Saturday, October 5th:
  • At St. Thomas of Canterbury, 4827 N Kenmore, at 1pm.  "All parishioners and neighbors are invited to gather on the front steps of the church with their pets for the Annual Pet Blessing in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Pets and animals.  Treats for pets will be provided."
  • At St. Mary of the Lake, 4200 Sheridan Road, at 5:15pm.  "Bring your furry, fuzzy, scaly or feathered friends to our annual Pet Blessing. On the Sheridan steps following the 4:30pm mass. Please, no pets in church. Be sure to leash or cage your pets."
