goings-on at the former Hull House on Beacon last week, we neglected one important detail: the silver gorilla who has sat outside for years.
Designed by Castlewood Terrace resident and renowned artist John Kearney, the gorilla's fate is shown in the above sign, placed on the construction site to reassure neighbors. Thanks go out to the reader who noticed this and posted it on UU's Facebook page.
Kearney also created the famous and much-loved Elaine Place giraffes, who will not be returning to the site in Lincoln Park where they stood beginning in 1978. We're grateful Uptown's gorilla is coming back home.
