On The Set

If you've been anywhere near Lawrence and Broadway today, you'll see  how much it takes to put together a modern film. Long gone are the days when the Essanay backlot (where the St. Augustine parking lot is now) was the setting for an entire Western. Trucks, equipment and personnel are everywhere for blocks around the Transformers 4 epicenter at on Lawrence.

The Uptown Theater marquee now gives thanks for 79 great years (notice the artfully tipped E).  The Asian real estate agency just north of it has been transformed into Star of Texas Liquor & Wine.

Ric Addy posted on Facebook this scene outside of his Shake Rattle & Read.

Got photos from the set?  Send them to us at UptownUpdate@hotmail.com and we'd love to run them.

  1. I'm not a fan of the Transformer movies...but knowing that parts are being filmed two blocks from me makes me want to see it!
