It was always a long shot, but it kept some hope alive. Today a judge denied the motion to keep ten CPS schools open, including Stockton and Stewart. The appeal was based on the independent hearing officers' recommendations that the schools not close, but the ruling said those weren't binding decisions. Looks like Stockton will open as a welcoming school for Courtenay and Stewart students will begin the upcoming school year as Brennemann students.
