Rain Delays

In light of the severe weather predicted for tonight, there've been some schedule changes of planned events:
  • UPDATED!  Beat 1914 CAPS:  "Hi Neighbors:  Our Beat 1914 CAPS Meeting is cancelled for tonight due to the weather. We'll see you next month, 7/10."
  • 46th Ward Neighborhood Nights:  "This week our Neighborhood Night will be in the Ward Office (4544 N Broadway, 5pm-7pm) due to expected thunderstorms. We will return to the Ward's parks and playlots next Wednesday evening. These events will allow any resident to meet with Ald. Cappleman and discuss any issue or just come to chat. Call Chris Jessup with any questions: 773-878-4646 or email at Chris@James46.org."
  • 47th Ward, Ward Night:  "Severe thunderstorms should arrive in our area this evening and will continue through the night. These storms are expected to produce large hail, lightning and strong sustained winds with gusts up to 75mph. There is also a flash flood watch in effect from 4pm today until 4am on Thursday. Tonight's Ward Night has been rescheduled to June 20, Thursday from 5pm to 7:15pm."
  • Chase Park Advisory Council Meeting:  "Tonight's CPAC meeting has been rescheduled due to severe storms expected in the area. Our June meeting will now take place on Wednesday, June 19th, at 7:00pm. Stay safe everyone!"
Make sure your cell phone is charged, don't go into a puddle if there are downed wires, and stay inside as much as you can.  It usually isn't as bad as predicted, particularly in the city, but don't take chances.
