Yes, There Will Be Airhorns

If you're planning to take the Red Line northbound anytime between 10pm Friday and 4am Monday, it's not going to be that easy from Uptown and Edgewater.  The southbound trains will be running.  CTA says:
How does this affect my trip?  Howard-bound trains will not stop at Wilson, Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, or Granville stations.  Southbound trains will be running.

For service to these stations, take a Howard-bound train to the Loyola and transfer to a 95th-bound train.

For service from these stations, take a 95th-bound train to Sheridan and transfer to a Howard-bound train.

At Sheridan station, Howard-bound trains will stop at their normal platform, but board/exit trains on the outer tracks instead of the inner tracks.

Allow extra travel time.
And, again, there will be airhorns at all hours of the day and night to warn the workers on the tracks that a train is coming through.

  1. I hope this is not a harbinger of things to come. Two years of air horns at night would not be acceptable....

  2. Ah....speaking of which. Last night's storm set off one particularly OBNOXIOUS 'car alarm' over and over and over again......
People please! Either pay attention to your 'alarm' or don't activate them. Please!!!!

  3. Does anyone know when the real construction at Uptown Station will start?

  4. The "real" construction is projected to start early part of the 4th Quarter (October).
