Uptown From The International Space Station

Did you ever look up and see the International Space Station going past Uptown in the sky?  Canadian Chris Hadfield, the commander of the ISS since December, is looking right back and putting his photos of the world, as seen from space, on Twitter.

"Chicago, a bright spot on the tip of Lake Michigan, glowing through the clouds."

"Chicago on a clear winter's day, ice on the shore, busy O'Hare airport visible from orbit."
You can follow him on Twitter.  We highly recommend this article with its slide show of 67 of his photos, everything from the Northern Lights to Palm Island in Dubai to the blue waters of the Bahamas.

We love how you can see Graceland/Wunder cemeteries and St. Boniface cemetery, even from space.  They're so noticeably different from the surrounding areas by virtue of having no lights and less of a heat footprint, so they remain darker and more snowy than the busy urban areas surrounding them.
