Hungering For Himalayan?
Himalayan/Nepali cuisine... that's something you don't come across every day. Luckily for us, that void in Uptown will soon be filled by Ne:Wa restaurant, soon to open at 5009 N Clark.
In the late 1990s, there were only about 200 Nepalese citizens in the Chicago area. Now there are approximately 7,000, and just a handful of restaurants that serve their native dishes. So hopefully Ne:Wa has tapped into a lucrative market with its location in the Andersonville/Uptown corridor.
The website is pretty sparse at the moment, but the Facebook page has some mouth-watering pictures in the "Building Our Menu" albums. We didn't come across a projected opening date, but we look forward to dining there before long.

Yak stew, anyone?
ReplyDeleteOh, how I've missed Tibet Cafe since they left us down here in the 3900 block of Sheridan. This is great news -- delicious food & lots of vegetarian options on the way!
