Reminder: "Meet The Commanders" On Wednesday

From Ald. Cappleman's latest newsletter:

There's been much in the news about gun violence in Chicago and many of you want to know what's being done in the 46th Ward to address violence here. 19th Police District Commander Eli Voulgaris (pictured), 20th Police District Commander James Jones, and I will discuss how we are addressing gun violence and other criminal activity in the 46th Ward.

When: Wednesday, Feb 27 from 6:30pm to 8pm
Where: Preston Bradley Center, 941 W. Lawrence

This will be a time to learn the facts about crime in the 46th Ward, hear an overview of the revised Public Safety Ward Master Plan, and learn what you can do to help make the area safer.

To prepare for the meeting, email us your questions at chris@james46.org

Answers to these questions will be provided at the meeting. Together, we can help make the 46th Ward safer for everyone.

  1. So how long are we going to harp on the police as if they have anything to do with the actual violence? All the police do is make the problem worse by harrassing these already violent gang members and often times innocent people.

POLICE REACT TO CRIME, they don't prevent it. EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, and COMMUNITY prevent it.
