Come to A Benefit For Mr. Snuffleupagus

On December 9th, at 4pm, the Annoyance Theater (4830 N Broadway) will be putting on a benefit for Michael Earl.  Michael has been a puppeteer for 30 years, including a stint on Sesame Street as Big Bird's friend Mr. Snuffleupagus. Recently, Michael was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer, and unfortunately has no health insurance.

In response, several of Chicago's own puppeteers have come together for a variety show at the Annoyance, called Helping Hand: A Puppet Benefit for Michael Earl. It features several acts including The Noah Ginex Puppet Company, Brouhaha!, cast members of the Annoyance's own Weirdos!, and more.

More information on the benefit can be found here.  And if you'd like to learn more about Michael, you can go to his blog here.

  1. Does anyone know if this is a kid-friendly puppet show - or an adult-themed puppet show?
