One of Clark Street's less attractive buildings is getting a makeover. The Bag Plaza Corporation Building at 4533 N Clark, scarcely seen behind scaffolding these days, is getting a new facade on all three stories, according to a building permit just issued to the owner. Let's hope for something a little prettier than what's there now: dingy glass block shoehorned into the front of what looks like a century-old storefront. We're eager to see what emerges.
This a pretty cool building (in fact a handful remain on this stretch)...hopefully a legit rehab is in store. Either way it's great to see any love and it prevents a tear down / future subway or cash 4 gold
