Timberrrrrrrr!

Ouch.  Someone's going to have an insurance headache.  A reader says:  "I took the attached photo this morning on the way to work of a tree that fell on a car between Marine and Clarendon on Buena. A calm, almost windless night and a tree limb comes crashing down. Aaarrrggghhh."

If you are the owner of a car that was damaged and need any documentation for your insurance claim, write to uptownupdate@hotmail.com and we can send you the full-size photo.

  1. Unfortunately the city has not seen fit to maintain all the green they require. Many streets have lights blocked b/c of unmanaged trees.

  2. It would be wonderful to have the City invest in some good hardwoods which could live over 120 years rather than this junk - locust and the such - which they are now planting.

  3. The City does not regularly inspect trees. If you see a problem with a tree, call 311. (Not that this would have helped here.)

  4. That's my mom's car and her building across the street. She called me at 7:30am with the news. The tree was later removed. She has scratches & dents and is getting an estimate. Does anyone know if the city bears any liability for parkway tree damage? I would appreciate getting the picture.
