At the scene of the accident later Saturday, police said two people died in the accident. Two heavily damaged cars remained in the southbound lanes Saturday night. A green Nissan appeared to have heavy damage to its front-end while the drivers’ side door of a black Honda Civic was also heavily damaged. Update:  According to the Tribune, and the updated story in the Sun-Times, one of the dead is a six-year-old boy and the other is his mother.  Just heartbreaking.
