More On Sunday Night's Gang Shooting

An update from Ald. Cappleman on last night's events:

"Last night at 11:30pm, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the arm in a drive-by shooting while leaving a high-rise near Clarendon Park. The victim walked to Weiss Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

I have been in contact with the board president of the high-rise association and he will be following up with the family of the victim.  Commander John Kenny confirmed that an ongoing investigation is in process, but the shooter has not yet been identified.  The police are using footage from area surveillance cameras to help identify the shooter's vehicle and license plate number.  The management of the high-rise is also cooperating with the police during their investigation.

If you suspect you hear gunfire, please call 911 immediately.  If you are not sure if you are hearing fireworks or gunfire, you should still call 911.

Please consider attending your next CAPS Beat meeting. For more information about CAPS and their meeting schedule, please click here."

  2. I wonder what high-rise it happened. Nothing happened on the South End by Montrose & Clarendon. My guess would be the Twin Towers at Wilson and Clarendon. In the old days all you had to worry about is fingers being blown off on the 4th of July. Now you have to worry about being shot and killed instead.
