Interfaith Bike Ride Scheduled By Chainlink

The Chainlink is inviting everyone to a bike ride around Chicago's significant Jewish and Muslim sites, which will conclude at the American Islamic College in Uptown (pictured), followed by a picnic in a nearby park.  Everyone is welcome!  Here's what they have to say:

"The Jewish-Muslim Community Building Initiative [JMCBI] and several Jewish and Muslim organizations and bike clubs are partnering to bring a special interfaith bicycle experience to the community.

On Sunday, July 8, Jewish and Muslim friends will embark on a tour of Chicago's mosques and synagogues by bicycle. Event information and RSVP can be found on The Chainlink. Riders will meet at the Downtown Islamic Center (231 State St.) at 10 a.m. before riding by several synagogues and the American Islamic College in East Lakeview. The ride will be 8 miles, with a few stops along the way, ending at a park for picnicking and conversation.

A group of riders will continue on to the American Islamic College where The Light in Her Eyes will be playing as part of the AIC film series at 2 PM. The Light in Her Eyes offers an extraordinary portrait of a leader who challenges the women of her community to live according to Islam, without giving up their dreams. Movie is free and open to the public.
