Celebrate Pride Locally

Uptown is having quite a few celebrations to go along with the Pride Parade this weekend. Keep checking for updates on Uptown Business Partners' site www.uptownproud.org, including about how to get a flag that will get entitle you to discounts at some area businesses.

Here are some to look out for:

• Mention "Pride" at Spoil Me Salon (Leland and Broadway) and get 20% off your bill from now through Sunday.
• SoFo Tap (4923 N Clark) opens Saturday at noon. "Saturday night we are hosting the United Airlines GLBT Pride Party. Come meet the people who bring you the "friendly skies".  Sunday we open at 2:00 pm for your post parade party."

• Crew (4804 N Broadway) will open at 10am and serve brunch until 3pm (the entire menu will be served all day).  VJ Ven will show up at 3pm for post-parade celebrations.
• Saturday, June 23rd, the annual Dyke March will take place on the sidewalks of Uptown, starting at 2pm in Margate Park. The route is pictured to the right and more information is here.
