Beautiful Bodegas


It's really nice to see the improvements continue, as Shop 'N Save (Sheridan and Wilson) added graphics to its windows, and Foodtown (Hazel and Montrose) has a new awning and website.  We are getting some classy-looking convenience stores in Uptown!

    But eric, "Beautiful Mom and Pop Shops" or "Beautiful Conveniences Stores" sounds so ugly compared to "Beautiful Bodegas"!

    We obviously need a new word to describe independent convenience stores in Chicago.

    "Bodega" is clearly too tied to NYC.

    Chidega?

    Boago?

    I'm sure some of you who are sober and wearing pants can come up with better suggestions that I have.

    enough of this New York v Chicago insecurity stuff.
    Bodega is a fine word.
    i have and will continue to employ the term Bodega.

    I call them 'Corner Stores.' Bodega is a NYC word. When people use that term, you know they are a recent arrival.
