Support your locally owned businesses... that's the mantra of "cash mobs," who come to a community and join together to pump a few bucks each into the local economy. This Saturday, April 7th, Cash Mob Chicago will be coming to Uptown, and they'd love for you to join them.
The plan is to meet at Shake Rattle and Read, 4812 N Broadway, between 5-8pm.
"AfterMob" is scheduled for Fat Cat
. The event listing is on Facebook
and you can follow them on Twitter at @cashmobchicago.

On another note, I recently became active in a community group here in Uptown called Transitions Uptown that is doing really amazing things around the ideas of community building, sustainability/environmental initiatives, empowering the local economy/community and the like. The group meets the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at the ICA Building 4750 N. Sheridan 6th floor from 6-8 pm. All are welcome, especially those with ideas and input on how to better Uptown through strengthening the community while using environmental initiatives
Chicago Cash Mob would like to invite you to our FIRST OFFICIAL CASH MOB at THE FAIR TRADER - Hyde Park's Fair Trade Boutique on April 28, 2012.ReplyDelete
We'll meet at The Fair Trader located in Hyde Park at 1623 E 55th Street, Chicago, IL this Saturday at 4pm and leave at 5. The 'local watering hole' where everyone is welcomed to join us afterwards is still being determined (we'll update this information before the event) and the owners of The Fair Trader have been preparing for this event for a couple of weeks now - so our expectations are high for this event.
