Man Accused Of Torturing Dogs & Posting Videos To YouTube

Update: In the original posting of this story, the man's address was given as being on the 4700 block of Malden, but later versions have been changed to say that he is from the Austin neighborhood and lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The story is no less disturbing, but at least he is not our neighbor.

A North Side man and a 13-year-old boy have been charged with torturing adult dogs and young puppies and posting the acts of torture on YouTube in a series of videos.

Joshua Moore, 22, was arrested Thursday night. He’s charged with four felony counts of animal torture and eight misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.

The boy, whose name was withheld because of his age, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with four counts of animal torture and three counts of animal cruelty, all felonies.

The Chicago Police Department’s animal crimes unit began investigating after being alerted about the videos on YouTube, Officer John Mirabelli said.

All of the videos depicted acts of violence and torture on the dogs, Mirabelli said.  Continue Reading
