Lakeside Pride's "Salute To Uptown" March 24

From Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles:
We've got another concert, titled A Salute to Uptown, featuring Alderman Cappleman, special guest conductor Robert Sheldon, and the Chicago Premiere of a gay-themed silent movie titled A Belch Can Ruin a Wedding. This concert features music that reflects the history of Uptown as a historic entertainment district.

This performance is on Saturday, March 24 at 8 PM at Preston Bradley Center, 941 W. Lawrence. We would also like to offer your readers $5 OFF with the code "UPTOWN2012" Click here to purchase tickets

This concert from Chicago's premier lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender friendly ensemble features a score to the original gay-themed silent movie A Belch Can Ruin a Wedding as well as two original works from special guest conductor and composer Robert Sheldon. The short film is a melodrama that follows Little Mel's search for his true love Studly Do-Right and harkens back to an era when early film stars worked at Essanay Studios on Argyle Street. The Lakeside Pride Symphonic Band is comprised of over 60 talented musicians and in 2011 was inducted into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame for its contributions to the community.
