This sounds awesome.  Bring your Valentine to the vintage theatre space soon to open in the Preston Bradley Center at 941 W Lawrence:

"The New National Pastime Theater opens to the public this Valentine's Day.   Step out in high style at our first annual Beginning of the Big Time, a speakeasy-style jazz spectacular.  We encourage you to dress for the occasion, grab your dancing shoes and to bring your favorite spirits.  NPT will provide the set-ups for all libations. Proceeds from this benefit go to preservation of this historic theatrical space. For tickets visit our website or call 773-327-7077.

The night will feature
  • jazz quartet Fred Barr's Organ-ized Sound, with special guest Dave Grilly
  • a plethora of enticing period style entertainment including a sweet sample of Vaudezilla's classic style burlesque
  • Steve Madjar, of Chicago's former theater haunt The Gaslight Corner, eclectic Germanic influenced Chef, serves up small plates of the tastiest edibles... sweet, and classic
  • many varieties of Eli's Cheesecake
Our romantic new theater is the perfect outlaw hangout for thrill-seeking lovers and love-seeking thrillers. Beginning of the Big Time shows one night only.  Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2012 from 7pm-11pm.  Formal vintage dress encouraged. BYOB.  Tickets are $50 per couple ($25 single) in advance and $60 per couple ($30 single) at the door."
