"Occupy The Dream" Celebration Fills Peoples Church

Photo by José M. Osorio, Chicago Tribune
Yesterday's "Occupy the Dream" event at the Preston Bradley Center (941 W Lawrence) was standing room only.  According to the Tribune, all three seating levels were filled to capacity, and it was attended by Toni Preckwinkle, Jan Schakowsky and other politicians.

Nice to see so many people coming to Uptown.  You can read about it in the Tribune:  "Religious leaders, Occupy Chicago celebrate King."

  1. This event was an amazing success, and being part of it made me proud to be from Uptown. It was inspiring and motivating. Those that sneer and jeer at the 'Occupy' crowd should get more involved. Most will be surprised by the intelligent people they meet. If ever a movement had the ability to change things, especially on a local/city level, it is this movement!
