This is really tragic:Hull House, started by Jane Addams in 1889, is declaring bankruptcy and will close its community centers, including the one in Uptown (4520 N Beacon), next spring.
According to the Sun-Times, "After more than 120 years in existence, Hull House is closing because of financial difficulties." You can read the entire article here.
Very sad, both for those who do its good work and for those who use its services.
And just at a time in our history when citizens need these services more than ever! Can we "occupy" the Hull House centers to heighten public awareness of what's happening here?
