Sunday Is "48th Ward Day" At The Shedd Aquarium

Buy one admission and get one free, or half off a single admission ticket. According to the information we've gotten from the Shedd's publicist, you buy your tickets at the Shedd, and will need to show an ID to prove you live in the 48th Ward.  Tickets can't be purchased in advance, and only the person purchasing tickets needs to be from the 48th. So hey, take a 46th Ward friend along as a guest.

SHEDD AQUARIUM OFFERS SPECIAL DISCOUNTS TO RESIDENTS OF CHICAGO’S 48th WARD

Shedd partners with Alderman Harry Osterman to provide discounted admission and additional savings through “Ward Days” program.

WHAT: For more than 80 years, Shedd Aquarium has proudly served the City of Chicago and its diverse communities. Shedd is continuing that tradition through partnerships with local aldermen for the return of its Ward Days program. With the support of Ald. Harry Osterman, the aquarium will provide discounted admission to residents of the 48th Ward on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Whether the aquarium is a place for communities to gather, families to create memorable moments, grandparents to visit with grandkids, or adults to reconnect with their favorite childhood memories, every day at Shedd provides a new adventure. Shedd’s Ward Days program is a special opportunity for Chicagoans to explore the wonders of the undersea world and enjoy the true spirit of community.

In addition to receiving discounted admission and a 10 percent discount on food and gift store items, 48th Ward residents will be able to reduce their wait time by having access to a separate entrance. In addition to experiencing Shedd’s popular aquatic show, Ward Days participants will also have the opportunity to meet Ald. Osterman.

WHEN: Sunday, Nov. 6 - The Shedd Aquarium is open 9am to 6pm

PRICES: Shedd Pass with discount for 48th Ward Day community residents only. “Buy One, Get One Free” adult tickets for $28.95 (or half off that for a single ticket). Kids (3-11) for $19.95 (or half off a single ticket). Kids under 3 get in free.

*Shedd Pass discount includes: Abbott Oceanarium, Wild Reef, Jellies, aquatic show and Original Galleries. Upgrade to the 4-D Theater Experience is available for $4/person.
