"I just walked through the Sunnyside Mall and the Dept. of Forestry is busy pruning the trees. It’s been a long time since the mall trees got a haircut and it’s looking brighter already. A gentle reminder that trees, when properly pruned, are much healthier.

There is no question that trees properly trimmed are a good thing. HOWEVER, mature shrubs cut all the way to ground will NOT grow back in a good way. They have lost their central trunk and will lose their shape. WHY this happened is incomprehensible. Correct pruning never calls for shrubs being clear cut!
