Grid Chicago interviews Maria Barnes, the owner of Uptown Bikes.  She explains the shop's history and philosophy.

    Love this place.

    I stopped in last year, got a great new bike for a terrific price. The staff was (is) amicable, fun, helpful, knowledgeable and responsive.

    And, if I ever need anything, they're practically right next door.

    What more could a cyclist want?
