I can't speak for the other members of the Education Transition Team, but I personally sent an email in response to Alderman Cappleman's invitation after seeing it posted on Uptown Update. I expressed my interest in improving education in our ward as a mother of a future elementary school student. I was chosen. There are a variety of people serving on the Education Transition Team. Some work with at-risk youth, some work for CPS, some work in early education, some are parents of current CPS students, and some are business owners in the community.
