If you're a comics collector, you're probably already aware of The Comic Vault at 1530 W Montrose. A reader forwarded us some sad news:
"With a heavy heart I must announce that due to a personal family matter the Comic Vault is closing and this is the last week of new books. I appreciate everyone's support of the past 5 years and apologize to the people that have just signed up for membership at our downtown store.Again, this is the last week of new books and I ask that everyone picks up their books. The Montrose location will be closing by the end of June and all secured members that have not picked up their books will have their books mailed to them.
Starting this Saturday, everything will be 35% off! Come join us as we close out a great run with Brian Azzarello on Saturday, June 4th. Brian Azzarello will be signing at the Uptown Comic Vault at 3pm. Come join Brian and watch the Cubs take on the Cardinals. Brian will be signing copies of Flashpoint: Batman - Knight of Vengeance #1."
Well that sucks. They were a good business and a great influence on Uptown. Where will I get my comic fix now?
ReplyDeleteThirdcoast Comics on Broadway near Granville is a great alternative. A bit further north, but with a great, knowledgable staff and it caters as much to the general population as to comic geeks. Great recommendations for people who are new, or returning to, comics. Also, Alleycats Comics just opened off Clark in Andersonville (behind the Potbelly's).
