Just in from the 23rd District CAPS office:
Tonight at 7:00 neighbors are going to be bringing radios and listening to the Cubs game against the Brewers. People are encouraged to bring radios, dogs, children, snacks, soft drinks and lawn chairs.
This will be a good way to meet your neighbors and start using the beautiful public space of Sunnyside Mall for its intended purpose.
So I can bring a 40 ounce and some flaming cheetos?
ReplyDeletei love the name - "loafing." cpt picard - you do that, i call 911 on you.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the Sunnyside 'mall' is (ideally) an awesome addition to Uptown. I know it can attract a fair amount of thugs and thugettes.....but seeing kids on Big Wheels, and 'normal folks' enjoying the space tonight was great.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I drove by and saw a member of COURAJ on his cell phone at Magnolia, keeping a careful eye on people using the mall for its intended use. Yeah, can't be too careful of those people with kids and lawn chairs! What's HAPPENING to the neighborhood!?
ReplyDeletewtf? COURAJ is still around?
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it is as an organization, but the members still live here and one was keeping an eye on the dangerous residents enjoying the mall.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice that we have a new tagger in the neighborhood who marked up that standing sculpture at Sunnyside/Magnolia?
ReplyDeleteThe same person wrote the same stupid thing (I think it was the word "Terayne") on a door in the building next to the Clark Street Market.
