Video Of The 46th Ward Great Debate

It was an entertaining Saturday, seeing all eleven candidates in the same place, on January 29th at The Great Debate.  So many people gave their time to make it possible, including -- among many others -- Marlise Fein, the management of Borders, Greg Harris, UCRD and CPNA. Thanks to them all for their contributions.

The entire debate is on YouTube, in eight parts, so if you couldn't make the debate or want to review the candidates' answers, in their own words, it's all here. It's probably the most complete record of any of the forums as you'll see. Watch it, think about it, and get out there and VOTE.

  1. Where's the part where Emily Stewart explains why she campaigned against Barack Obama for the U.S. Senate?

    Diversity my hind-end.

  2. Doggie... down, boy. Down! Seriously, three comments, maybe four a day, from one person are plenty. You're gonna wear through your monthly quota before you finish your morning bowl o' chow!

  3. I tried to explain to somebody about 46th ward politics (as best I understand them) and the weird Twilight zone of social services that has been created to an out of towner and they were appalled. The situation where they live is a daytime homeless shelter moved into their somewhat de-gentrifying neighborhood and brought an influx of thugs into it, but they can't conceive of their entire neighborhood being dominated by social services and needy people

Uptown got the part right about "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddles masses" but forgot they were yearning to breathe free.
