One Week Left To Vote Early

Early voting ends on February 17th.  Do it early, avoid the rush!  Who knows what election day will bring?  All early voting locations are now open tomorrow, Lincoln's Birthday.

It's quick and easy with so few offices on the ballot.  The Uptown early voting location is Truman College (1145 W Wilson), but you can vote anywhere in the city.  Welles Park is even open Sunday.  Check out the early voting locations here.

Remember the frustration and anger many of us felt last summer as gunshots and violence were the rule rather than the exception?  You have the chance and the ability to change the leadership in the ward so we don't have to experience another summer like that.  Please, take advantage of it.

  1. Early voting is easy.

In and out in two or three minutes.

Sounds like my sex life only no money is exchanged.

    (shifty eye thing going on)

  2. I see two candidates qualified to take on the gun/gang/crime issues. Brian Carroll and Diane Shapiro. Both come to you with a law enforcement background. Brian is still CPD and Diane was with Cook County for decades. Draw your own conclusions. And lets all get ready to pay the Rahm tax !

  3. Pepper Spray... I have trouble with your very strong and emphatic endorsement of a candidate when you don't even know his proper name.

As for Diane, the chances of a Republican representing a Chicago lakefront ward are about as strong as the chance of Helen Shiller endorsing James or Molly as her successor.

  4. Sorry to have offended you,gg... Im just wishing for an Uptown free of gangbangers firing weapons. I wish this for you and your ilk ... not me. Its not a factor in my life. Im armed. Not even a blip on the radar...So dont vote for that Republican...drink the koolaid and enjoy paying the Rahm tax. And dont be suprised when he pisses off the Police and Fireman to the point that they do nothing.

  5. Pepper, you didn't offend me... you amused me! Someone passionately shilling for a candidate whose name he doesn't know. Pretty damned amusing, you've got to admit. 10 out of 10 of my ilk agree. It's as funny as your twisty logic that a vote against Brian, or Diane as I like to call her, Shapiro means that Brian (Rahm) Emanuel will be elected, and your vague threat that such a cataclysmic event will make Uptown's firefighters sit around watching buildings burn and our coppers yawn as the P Stones peddle drugs at the Magnolia mini mart. Read carefully what I said: "the chances of a Republican representing a Chicago lakefront ward are about as strong as the chance of Helen Shiller endorsing James or Molly as her successor." I didn't say I was or wasn't voting for Brian (Diane) Shapiro. I said that the chances of any Republican being elected to represent a Chicago lakefront ward are nil. If there are any Repubs elected to the Council in February, they sure as hell ain't coming from the lakefront. BTW, if you're a cop, I think you owe your colleagues in Uptown an apology for implying that they are so shallow that Brian (Rahm)'s election will lead them to stop being good cops. I work with them as a volunteer, and I could not hope to meet a better and more dedicated group of men and women.

  6. Im not shilling because I dont give a rats ass. Vote for whoever YOU think can clean up the mess in Yuptown. I feel that Cops and former County probation workers are
well qualified to take on crime issues. That was my ONLY point. A secondary consideration is that of Northside yuppies electing Rahm, who has already gone far out of his way to piss off Police and Fire by way of threatening pensions, and walking into Firehouses and insulting Firefighters. If you care to elect this arrogant midget, do it ! I dont care ! Talk to some of those First responders you claim to work with, and see how they feel about the arrogant little former White House troll .

  8. So, is early voting tomorrow (Saturday, Feb 12) or today (Friday, Feb 11). Its all over the early voting that Lincoln's birthday is the 11th, when his birthday is actually the 12th.

  9. His b'day is the 12th, but the holiday (Land o' Lincoln, gotta love it!) was the 11th. Early Voting was originally scheduled to be closed on the 11th, but because of the blizzard closing it last week, they decided to keep it open Friday. You can vote on Saturday, as it was always scheduled to be open that day.
