  1. FREE garage parking for students, faculty & staff!? That's crazy!

Whether public or private, you won't find that at any other college in the city!

Who do we have to thank for gracing these folks with our tax largess?

  2. As a resident of the 4400 block of Racine Ave, I'm thrilled to now have my street parking back on Saturday mornings - Truman students usually took over every single parking space on my street making Saturday morning car errands a real pain in the ass.

But yes, TIF-funded free parking for college students is a complete rip. Let them take the train or bus! I'd much rather they used this money to redo the Wilson El stop or make a Montrose one.

  3. I have studied/worked at 4 college campuses, and not one has had free parking during weekday hours.

However, if they charged for parking the students would probably continue to take all our street parking.

  4. I'm glad to hear the parking garage is now open. The students and faculty et al are probably happy, too.

I'd like to see the weekend hours extended past 5 pm. Local business owners could benefit.

  6. A haven for crime? Just like the Weiss lot on clarendon? Oh wait...

  7. Truman need to consider issuing overnight parking pass at a discount rate to neighborhood business or residents alike to alleviate the parking headache. Especially when tax payers' dollars were used. A busy parking garage is a safer parking garage.

  8. Free parking at DeVry for students. Take that parking lot know-it-alls.

  9. Thank GOD! No more coming home at 6pm and sitting in my car an hour to find parking because all the students and teachers blew off the harbor parking/shuttle. I really want permit parking on our street!!!!
