Audition For The Annoyance's Production of "Oprah! The Last Show!"

Oprah! The Last Show!* is a fast-paced, hilarious new comedy satirizing Oprah Winfrey and her twenty-five years in the city of Chicago. Part play, and part sketch comedy show; it's set in September 2011 and Oprah is prepared for her final "Oprah Winfrey Show" to go off without a hitch – until the ghost of Mayor Richard J. Daley shows up to teach her that it isn't so easy getting out of the Chicago machine.

Shows: At the Annoyance Theatre, 4830 North Broadway, Chicago, IL. Casting for a six-week run, one show per week, beginning the last week of February 2011.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays and Sundays in January and February 2011.

Seeking: Five non-equity actors for the following…

*OPRAH WINFREY: African-American female, age 22-55. Extensive comedy theatre experience a must, improv experience a plus.
*ENSEMBLE MEMBER (Female, age 22-55): Two comedic performers will play a wide variety of roles including original characters, as well as local and national celebrities. Extensive comedy theatre experience a must, improv experience a plus.
*ENSEMBLE MEMBER (Male, age 22-55): Two comedic performers will play a wide variety of roles including original characters, as well as local and national celebrities. Extensive comedy theatre experience a must, improv experience a plus.

Auditions: Saturday, December 11 from 12-6pm. Callbacks: Sun Dec 12 from 12-2pm. Held at Green Shirt Studio, 4636 N. Ravenswood Ave., Suite 102, Chicago, IL 60640. Please email a headshot and resume to OprahAud@gmail.com for an audition slot.

Prepare: Sides will be available at Green Shirt Studio, day of audition.

If auditioning for Oprah, please prepare an Oprah impression, not to exceed one minute in length, as well as a second short impression of any celebrity you choose. If auditioning for ensemble members, please prepare two impressions, not to exceed thirty seconds in length each. Choose the first impression from the following list: Ellen DeGeneres, Suze Orman, Gayle King, Mayor Richard M. Daley, Dr. Phil, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama. The second impression may be any celebrity of your choosing.

*Working title. "Oprah! Last Show!" is a satire and parody and is not in any way affiliated with Oprah Winfrey, The Oprah Winfrey Show, or Harpo Productions.
