Buttercup Park: Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

According to the September 22, 2010 edition of the News-Star, Buttercup Park (Ainslie and Sheridan) has been awarded $1,000,000 from the Hollywood/Sheridan TIF for the purpose of revitalizing and redesigning the playlot there.

We know a lot of hard work has gone into the project by members of the Buttercup Playlot Advisory Council and the Sheridan Road Task Force, who are striving to make that stretch of Sheridan safer and less threatening, particularly for the kids who attend McCutcheon Grade School, who participate in Boys and Girls Club programs, and who spent time in the playlot.  Kudos to them... a million bucks should go a long, long way towards attaining their goals.  Good news!

  1. One million dollars? Seriously? For a freaking park? A park with a fairly newer playground set? Seriously? That amount is about what 222 single family home owners together pay in property taxes each year. No wonder this city is so screwed. 1 mil for a park...but the urban pioneers love it if its in their semi shitty neighborhood. What a joke.
