After The Storm, 1963

Kudos to the Uptown Chicago History blog for linking to this great photo from 1963 showing storm damage at 4534 N. Racine. These homes, along with many others, were demolished to make way for Truman College. Pegasus Players now stands just about where these homes once stood.

  1. Great piece of history.
Who would have thought that someone could look back at a piece of Uptown history (a tragic storm) with nostalgia?

I'd take a storm any day, over 'p-stones....car break ins.....random shootings....'clam chouder'....menacing drunks at the Wilson L...pizza robberies on Malden....a myopic Alderman....etc. etc.

These were the 'good old days'
