Court Advocacy Meeting Tonight 6 PM

The 23rd District Court Advocates monthly meeting is tonight (August 31st, last Tuesday of the month) from 6-6:30 pm. If you're interested in upcoming cases, or learning more about becoming a court advocate, please plan to attend. It's in the Community Policing office, located at 3608 N Halsted, just north of Addison.

Court advocates attend a variety of cases, sometimes at the request of individual police commanders. Your silent presence is there to represent community interest in the case. We are currently tracking several cases, including narcotics sold within 1000 feet of a school, UUW (unlawful use of a weapon) and several related to burglary.

Court is during the day: morning and afternoon cases. If you have a non-traditional work schedule or can spare a day or two a month, you encourage you to learn about becoming a court advocate. For more information, call 312-744-0064 (23rd District Community Policing).
