Beat 2313 CAPS Meeting Tonight

We learned last night that CAPS Beat 2313 (the area bordered by Wilson, Broadway, Montrose and the lake) is the bookend of the gang violence experienced in Beat 2312.  Tonight is the CAPS meeting for that beat.  With shootings and a gang murder in the past month, interest should be high.  The meeting is held at the Clarendon Park Fieldhouse, 4501 N Clarendon, and everything starts at 7pm.

Beat 1922's (Lawrence, Clark, Berteau, Damen) meeting is also tonight, at Chase Park (4701 N Ashland), also at 7pm.  There's been violence and a beating on the other side of Clark, as well.  Please attend if you live in this area or are concerned about the violence that's been spilling across Uptown's borders.

  1. I think that was the highest attendance since the murders at wilson and hazel 3 or 4 years ago. I'm very disappointed that 2311 had over 100 people for a meeting last night and 2313 had less than a third of that. We've had similar problems, to a slightly smaller scale. Why aren't we collectively as involved?

  2. I dont think people are less activly involved....I think that most who went yesterday didnt want to go tonight since they may have felt it would just have been a rehash. Sadly this is how most people think and why this problem in our area wont go away until we aggresively continue on it.

  3. if it makes you feel any better, the meeting for beat 1922 only had about 8 peeps. But we were able to resolve to build a 10 foot fence along clark and Schulter said construction starts next week....ouch...that was mean. You know I jest....we are equally concerned about the activities for our friends to the east and will do our part to try to help as we all benefit in the end.
