A reader writes in asking:
"I just talked to a guy at the McCutcheon Annex (4800 block of Kenmore) who was operating heavy equipment - at 10PM ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. He said he got an last minute order to get the place ready for an event Monday morning. He said he didn't know what the event was, but he was making double time so he also didn't really care. Anyone have any idea what that's all about?"
Helen's retirement announcement?
ReplyDeleteYes... I believe that's what it will be. You won't have Helen to kick around anymore.
ReplyDeleteWell if they need a tool to bury all the good she's done for Uptown I would gladly bring over a spoon.
ReplyDeleteMy theory is that Shiller is gonna resign. Then Daley is going to appoint me. Then I'll use the platform of being alderman to run against Daley for Mayor.
I'll purchase two cars for my campaign. One will be a facsimile of the "Deathmobile" from "Animal House".
The other will be a clown mobile. I will dress up like a clown and follow Daley everywhere. I fully expect to force him into a runoff. In the runoff I will then get serious and ditch the clown car for the DeathMobile.
The election will end up in a tie where a coin has to be flipped. I will call "heads I win, tails you lose" and ascend to the Mayor's office.
There will be much rejoicing.
Thats a pretty cool prediction
ReplyDeleteirish pirate.
I hope it comes true
If Helen did retire, it would be her first positive contribution to Uptown in years. If I never had to hear from the lovely, Denise and her son Derek I could double my scotch intake for the right reason. Perhaps a going away party would be in order on Wilson. Milk crates and cocktails for all!! We can party with the "aliens" of uptown and perhaps bond. Ironic
