But Wait... There's More

Apparently there was a bullet sale at Thugs R Us today. It's scary out there tonight.

Remember that when your alderman says "Crime is not my issue," it becomes your issue. Ask yourself why this is happening here and not two miles to the north, or south, or west, and ask yourself if you're willing to live with four more years of warm nights like tonight. Make a vow tonight to get to the polls next February, no matter what.

"I live at the corner of Wilson and Clarendon, and I heard even more gunshots fired at about 9:15pm this evening (July 7). They sounded very similar to the "retaliation" shots that other readers heard early this morning. First, I heard about 4 shots in succession (a few seconds apart). They sounded somewhat like fireworks, so I went to my window to look. And sure enough, I saw it happening!! There was a man standing near the cul-de-sac on Eastwoood (just west of Clarendon - near Uplift). As I watched from my 8th floor window, he stood and fired about 5 more shots into the air just as he had done a few seconds earlier. Unfortunately, there seems to be lots of action in Uptown today..."

  1. Not sure if those were gunshots.

I saw a guy shooting off what appeared to be fireworks in the same place, around the same time.

  2. That must have been one large gun, if the witness could see it from that distant! :-)

  4. the violence is out of control..i mean..they go around shooting without any care due to the fact that the police are undermanned..i mean..there should be a police raid in all these buildings they are coming from..find all the illegal gun and arrest these idiots..

  5. I was at Clark and Montrose yesterday and someone was shot around 6:45pm in an alley at Montrose just east of Clark. Not killed, wounded only, and like clockwork, about an hour after, clearly gang members were circling like sharks to see the aftermath..cops on foot following behind.

  6. This is definitely going to continue on for the rest of the summer unless something is done.
