From Clark Kent To "Mr. Thrift"

Mark Konkol has written an article profiling Nate Miller, a Sun-Times reporter turned thrift store proprietor, serving Uptown at 4238 N Sheridan.

Meet "Mr Thrift" and some of his most colorful clientele, and learn why he gave up a job at the city desk to sell toasters and bikes in Buena Park.  (We covered his store opening, back when it was a gift store, rather than a thrift store, called "LightSpeed:Chicago.")

  1. This store confuses me...they have racks of clothes they leave out in pouring rain.

  2. I agree Kate....I just don't get it???? The store always looks vacant and very outdated. When I walk past it looks manly of throw aways?? Am I missing something?
