Ellen was honored at the event for her many years of hard work and dedication to the Buena Park Neighbors block club, including the Annual Buena Park Halloween Trick-or-Treating and creating the Buena Bunnies basket donation program. We know that many neighborhood kids will be delighted to find baskets this morning that the Buena Bunnies put together.Your friends at Uptown Update would like to wish our readers a Happy Easter. For those of you don't know Don Nowotny is the Street & Sans boss for the ward. I think he does a great job in trying to keep uptown clean. It's a uphill battle but he fights the good fight.

I gotta say this...If Helen is in fact not running (which I would much rather her lose than bow out).
ReplyDeleteIf she doesn't run then the game has changed a bit for me. Lets hope all candidates will announce soon so the hard questions can be asked.
Anyone have any idea when Helen is required to confirm or deny if she is done (by her own accord that is).
In the great Chicago tradition, if Helen has decided not to run, we'll never know until we wake up one morning and find out that she's resigned with a few months left in her term and that a replacement has been appointed, who will then run for alderman as an incumbent.

ReplyDeleteWouldn't it make more sense though for the machine to get their guy in place asap and try to make the ward less hostile with plenty of time before the election?
Hellon is sane compared to compared to her sonny boi and that would be her replacement. She requests it and da mare approves it. It's the city/Crook county way of passing on the power
ReplyDeleteActually BuenaPk "da mare" is quite particular in who he appoints to aldermanic seats.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Baby Boy Shiller would make the cut. I'd be willing to bet my middle testicle that Daley would never pick said individual.
They'd more likely go for someone better able to hold the seat.
So much of the anger in the ward is focused on Shiller that her leaving office and being replaced would likely be the best move "da machine" could play.
I fully expect her to serve out her term and I'm hoping she runs. Her leaving somewhat voluntarily just doesn't appeal to my baser instincts.
If she doesn't run I would expect Cappleman, Carroll, Farinas and if rumors be true Nowotny to run. If Shiller were to leave early my guess is that Don Nowotny would likely replace her.
That scenario leaves open an opportunity for a female to run and have an outside shot. I imagine there are a few considering it.
The males split the vote and then the female faces off against the top male vote getter. If that vote getter is Cappleman game over. If that vote getter were Nowatny then the female becomes the choice of the opposition and would have a good chance of winning.
Take notice potential female candidates the IrishPirate has spoken.
If I was forced to pick from six potential candidates and say who is likely to be sworn in as Aldercritter in April 2011 I would say the initials are likely JC.

If Daleys threw their support behind the Toddler, sonny boi will make it. He has been trained by big mamma to bow down to da king. Look back thru the history of aldermanilc appointees. Even Carothers hand pick his fill-in. She is a close friend of Carothers and will take care of him when he isl realeased from prison.
